In 1993, a group of women gathered in the Parlors to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. This dedicated group of artistic, servant-minded women continues to meet most Thursdays to create and sew lap quilts for patients at our area hospitals. Many of these women are lifelong friends and they not only share ideas about what patterns to use, but also talk about their lives. The quilts they create are beautiful pieces of art! In recent years they began to photograph their projects! [They would certainly love to share their photographs with you!] The variety is astounding and each one is a unique creation, something to be treasured by the recipients. We give thanks to the Lord for the artistic gifts He has given 'our quilters' and for the loving manner in which they sew the quilts which provide comfort to those in the hospital!
