The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) has a rich heritage of hymns and hymn singing. To many LCMS Lutherans, the beloved traditional hymns create an atmosphere of majesty that enhances Sunday morning worship. At the same time, Lutherans of all ages love the gospel sounds and songs. At Immanuel, our traditional/liturgical service (8:30 am) uses the best of both worlds to worship the God who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Also in the LCMS, we are seeing that music of all kinds can be used to focus on God and draw hearts to Jesus. We realize that each person has a unique heart language—a way in which they can connect intimately with God. For these reasons, we also offer a contemporary service (11 am) each week. This service recognizes the majesty and mercy of God while using a less formal layout and more modern music and worship elements.
Whichever style is your preference, the focus is always our Savior Jesus Christ.
Music sets the stage for the most important part of worship, the Word and Sacraments. Immanuel has a long history of strong, Bible-based preaching and teaching that can be immediately applied allowing members and friends to Connect to Jesus in their daily lives.
The music, teaching, and preaching are all bathed in prayer as we work hard to be a praying church.
From the 3rd Sunday in June trough the Monday before Labor Day we also offer a Monday evening service at 7:00 p.m.
