  • First Sunday - First Fruits +

The first Sunday of each month, members of Immanuel are encouraged to bring food items and non-food items such as dish soap and personal care needed. The donated food is taken to NECM (North End Community Ministry) and then are distributed to families in North east Grand Rapids.

  • Supper House +

Supper House is one of NECM's (North End Community Ministry) Activities. It is a delicious and nutritious meal which is served at St. Alphonsus Catholic School on Currier NE every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Immanuel sponsors the meal four times a year. We donate the money for the food and also provide 14 workers to serve and clean up. This is a great activity for young teenage children to do with their parents. It is a great teaching experience on how to reach out to people in need. The people who attend Supper house are Northeast families in need. They receive a good meal and good service from different church families each time.

  • Holiday Food Baskets +

During the months of November, Immanuel is busy collecting food for people in need. Thanksgiving baskets are packed and delivered to families in area congregations and also in the community. The families do not only receive a box of food for Thanksgiving, but also a letter of encouragement from Immanuel's Pastor and an invitation to join us in worship. A note is also enclosed reminding the family that this food is an expression of love and concern for them and is donated, packed and delivered by Immanuel's caring church families.

  • Community Breakfast +

The Community Pancake Breakfast began over fifteen years ago by concerned members on the Human Needs Board and is currently handled by a crew of volunteers. This program provides an opportunity for workers to encourage and pray with economically disadvantaged individuals who attend the breakfast.

The Community Breakfast is held on the last Saturday of each month. Cereal, juice, warm fluffy pancakes right off the griddle, sausage and a great cup of coffee are served by friendly members to 150-180 people each month. Immanuel's bus goes to the shelters and picks up people to bring them to the church to receive this breakfast. The breakfast is served from 8:00-9:30 a.m. Workers are always needed. A brief Bible class is also available for them after they have eaten. In December, the church has their "Warm Hearts = Warm Hand and Warm Feet" Collection. Socks and gloves or homemade fleece mittens are collected and then given to all the people who attend the December breakfast.

In the month of April "Personal Care Items" such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bath soap and disposable razors are collected. They are given to the people who attend the April breakfast. A note is also included in the gift bag inviting the people to attend worship service and bible class.

  • GRACE Hunger Walk +
